I read in the paper the other day that someone I went to film school with is in the midst of getting money to make a movie with a friend of his. It's great knowing that at least someone got something out of the school I didn't like at all.

There's an indiegogo page, if anyone's interested.

I got my hair cut short so now I won't have to worry about putting it up for work, my room is slowly becoming more organized, I have a giant bag of chocolate-covered almonds, and I have books I enjoy reading.

Life's not fantastic, but I'm pretty happy with how I spent my break.

Why is it that it's always right when I'm trying to fall asleep my brain decides to leap up and shout "WRITE THIS WRITE THIS!"

I've gotten all the damn ideas written down now, but why did this have to happen after midnight and not hours earlier when I was actually trying to write?

I am really wanting to order some books right now, but I'm not sure if that would be a good idea. Money isn't really an issue, since the order only comes to about $33 for three books and I have a lot saved up, but I'm trying to keep my buying urges down. If I don't, I'll definitely turn into a shopaholic.

The books (in case anyone's interested) are: The Little Prince, since I've heard so much praise for it but have never read it myself; Japan Through the Looking Glass, to help me better understand the culture of that country, both for fanfics and other projects that would make a book like this come in handy; and the Penguin Dictionary of Symbols, easily the nerdiest of my wanted purchases, and the heftiest, since this book has over a thousand pages. I love analyzing symbols in media, and I think this could also help me from not creating Pop Symbolism in my own stories.

Chances are I'll cave by the end of today, but I'm going to try not to!

I also downloaded a program called OmmWriter today. I'd seen a friend on Tumblr talking about it awhile back and decided to check it out. The website will give any information you need on the program, and the best thing is it's cheap! I'm using the free version right now, but the update only requires a payment of $4.11 and anything higher than that would be given by the customer just wanting to show their support. So far I can't get over how adorable this is, the ambient sounds are great. I'm really hoping this will help stop my bad procrastination habits when it comes to writing.

My life has been almost pathetically boring lately. I say "almost" because I at least feel content with how things are going, which is leagues better than being annoyed at every little thing or being caught in a panic of "Ah! What if I never accomplish anything in my life?!"

So, a quick rundown of what's been going on lately:

- I helped at a dinner our Run for the Cure team put together at the beginning of the month. This was the only thing of great merit I've done.
- I am quickly trying to finish up the icon claim I did for [info]solo20in20
- I've begun replaying Majora's Mask not only because I want to, but also because it might finally get me to write that fic idea I've had for it for awhile.
- I got my very own copy of Persona 4 so now I can check and double-check things whenever I want, yay!
- I've also been getting some work done on original stories, though I still have quite a lot more work to do on them yet.
- My grandmother got a puppy! He's a little golden lab named Max, and he's the most pudgy, laid-back thing you've ever seen. Her older dog doesn't like him very much, but hopefully that will change for the better soon enough.

So another trailer for Dream Drop Distance came out recently. Overall I liked it (if thinking it got a bit long), it showed some story stuff, lots of gameplay stuff that makes it look like it has the same flashy but fun style of Birth By Sleep. But because I'm a biased little fangirl, all I can think of that I'm really excited about are Riku moments.

The line he has of "I walk the road to dawn" has increased my hopes that he'll be the awesome, snarky and interesting character he was in Chain of Memories, and not the sort of interesting but still static character he's been in Days and 2.
Also, Riku is Tron costume! So adorable and dorky! And a little Mickey-friendship moment was in there as well! There's too much catering to my fangirl heart in this trailer, please don't disappoint, game. You can do whatever you want on Sora's side of the story, but I want to see Riku having some fun too, okay?

Take a step back and think, "Now does this really affect anything? Does this have to be made into a big deal? No? Okay then, letting it go."

Well, this hasn't been a great start to my 21st birthday. I went into work just fine, then around 9:00 I started getting lightheaded and had to leave to throw up. I stayed at work for another hour to see if maybe it was just my breakfast not sitting well and I'd get better, but nope. So now I'm hope sick with my stomach feeling like crap.

At least my weekend was good. I'll talk about that later when I'm feeling more up to it.

Today at work was terrible. Slow, with way too many rotten potatoes to throw out, and I was on edge for no reason. I at least got a pick-me-up at lunch. There are computers in the break room, so after I'd eaten, I decided to check the news on the Globe and Mail. Somehow, I found my way to the article "Should Rick Perry's Youtube ad be banned as hate speech?", and it was pointed out to me that Perry's jacket looks similar to Ennis' in Brokeback Mountain. Thinking about that always made be giggle a bit afterwards.
